My favourite breakfast smoothie

Looking for some ideas for breakfast this morning? Or a quick option to make in advance and grab on-the-go? 


I love smoothies. They’re a great way to pack in your vitamins and nutrients and they fill you up without leaving you feeling full. 


I came across this recipe about 10 years ago in a “flat abs cookbook”. I’ve since modified it slightly as I’ve moved around. I still love this for breakfast - it’s my go-to smoothie recipe - or for lunch. 


The below recipe will give you one serving. Double up on the ingredients to make yourself two days’ worth of brekky in advance! 



  • 1/2 banana 

  • 1/4 cup frozen berries 

  • 1 tablespoon LSA (Linseed, Soy and Almond) Meal - or another of your choice 

  • 2 tablespoons of Plain Greek or Plain Natural yogurt 

  • 1 tablespooon natural peanut butter 

  • 1/2 to 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of your choice) - add the milk last and ensure it covers the rest of the ingredients (you can use the ‘max’ line on your Nutri Bullet cup if you’re using one)

  • Optional: 1 scoop of vanilla proteinpowders 

Blend all together until smooth. Enjoy immediately or place in fridge overnight. Stir after letting sit. 


You can add some fresh berries to the top or enjoy as is.
